…Tanna Frederick is an amazing actress. She’s got a rich “old Hollywood” feel and depth to her work. It’s almost like the dear departed spirits of Hollywood’s golden age have now come home, joined forces in unison and created her. Yeah, Tanna Frederick is THAT good….

Canyon NewsThis week in Hollywoodland, Tanna Frederick steps into the shoes of Sarah Jessica Parker, or at least a role that Parker made famous on Broadway…

Tanna will play a dog in A.R. Gurney’s “Sylvia” at the Sierra Madre Playhouse. The beautiful star is still riding high on the release of her film, and she’s excited to be stepping into the role famously played on Broadway by Sarah Jessica Parker. “It’s very exciting and scary at the same time. I was so happy to step in for the actress who was previously set to play the role, but she became unable to continue,” said Frederick. “Please keep your paws crossed, I hope it’s a success.”

Tanna’s most recent stage role as Panda in Henry Jaglom’s “Just 45 Minutes From Broadway” was so successful, that the play’s original 90-day run lasted over nine months. It has also been made into a film, which stars Judd Nelson, Diane Salinger and David Proval. It will be released at a later date by the Rainbow Film Company.

The plot of this movie might be familiar – a struggling young actress from middle America who can`t seem to get a break happens to meet a well-connected industry vet who envisions her as a future sensation, and a movie star is born. While that`s the story told anew in Henry Jaglom`s feature, the acclaimed “Hollywood Drea

ms,” it also happens to be pretty close to the real-life story of the film`s dynamic and engaging leading lady.

But actress Tanna Frederick, who has drawn raves for her tour-de-force as aspiring starlet Margie Chisek, is quick to point out that although they have similar stories, she`s far from the chaotic and sometimes naive Margie. “A lot of people at film festivals were afraid to approach me because they thought I was playing myself,” Frederick laughs. “Thankfully the next character I play is quite normal – complicated, but down-to-earth, so people will hopefully see once and for all that Margie and I are not the same person.”

Tanna Frederick Stars in “Queen of the Lot”

Henry Jaglom´s “Queen of the Lot,” starring Tanna Frederick and Noah Wyle, is currently playing in theaters nationwide. In the film, an electronic ankle bracelet and being under house arrest isn’t about to stop up-and-coming actress Maggie Chase (Frederick) from the two things she craves the most: real fame and true love. With more “Google points” than her Iowa hometown, but far less than Angelina Jolie, Maggie is desperate to claw her way off the B-list of action/adventure pictures and into major movie stardom. With a team of handlers (Ron Vignone, Diane Salinger, David Proval and Zack Norman) to spin her recent drunk driving arrests into tabloid gold and bad-boy movie star boyfriend Dov (Christopher Rydell) on her arm, Maggie’s star is on the rise. Things get complicated when a trip home to meet Dov’s legendary family introduces Maggie to the world of Hollywood Royalty (Kathryn Crosby, Mary Crosby, Peter Bogdanovich, Dennis Christopher and Jack Heller) and to her boyfriend’s brother Aaron (Noah Wyle), the black sheep of the family and a failed writer who can actually see Maggie for who she really is behind her ingénue facade. Last year Frederick starred in Henry Jaglom´s “Irene in Time,” which looked at the complex relationships between fathers and daughters and the consequences years later on a grown woman´s relationships with the men in their lives. She also starred in Jaglom´s “Hollywood Dreams” in 2008.
